Rwandan refugee, Amiel Nubaha, was born in a refugee camp following the 1994 Rwandan genocide and migrated to Australia in 2009 through the UNHCR Resettlement Program. Amiel graduated in 2019 with Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice, and in the same year graduated from the Caux Scholars Program in Switzerland. As an advocate for human rights, Amiel’s peacebuilding work continues to be amplified by his work as a Restorative Justice practitioner. Amiel is currently on the Board of Directors for Initiatives of Change Australia. In 2019, Amiel was nominated as a Multicultural Young Achiever Finalist for outstanding work within communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Amiel has already made his mark on the world through leadership activities and continues to actively engage with the Peacebuilding initiative while supporting communities from minority and diverse backgrounds in Australia.
