Blog Guidelines and Submissions

We encourage creative submissions dedicated to raising awareness on displacement, migration and humanitarian issues and themes across the world.

 

✓  Stories based on personal experiences, interviews or direct engagements with quotes by or with displaced people

✓  Analysis of policy, legal, social, economic, environmental or peacebuilding challenges in the humanitarian-displacement nexus

✓  Original concepts, powerful arguments and good quality writing with ethical citations. We are happy to republish or re-share your writing, with proper attribution of data and content.

 

Your submissions should be between 800-1500 words, unless you get special permission from our team. Along side your submission, please also submit a 100 words bio or a CV or links to your LinkedIn/Social Media so we can mention you as a contributor. We also recommend the usage of art work, photographs, illustrations, graphics or visuals to add with your post. These can be in png, jpg, jpeg or gif formats. Please also mention the source and caption for your images.

Please submit your 800-1500 words blog post via email in the following format, either as a word document, google document or directly in the email body.

 

✓ Concise title of your post mentioned in bold

✓ Two or three keywords to tag your article

✓ Clear introduction and conclusion, articulating your main points and a compelling argument to anchor the overall theme. Use multiple short paragraphs, simple sub-headings and avoid long sentences to engage the audience with your findings and nuances.

✓ Please ensure all your sources and citations are mentioned either via footnotes, hyperlinks or in APA/Chicago/MLA style.

✓ Our editorial team member will support with structural, language and content edits and send it back to you for your final review. Our main aim is to ensure quality, clarity, creativity and sensitivity especially for any stakeholders or interviewees involved.

✓  Reminder to submit your 100-words bio or CV and images with captions.
